San Francisco, 1958
On my first visit to San Francisco, I was fascinated by the little trams which went up the steep and hilly streets of that city. At its downtown terminal there is a turntable to reverse the tram direction by hand, so as to go back uphill again.
Bei meinem ersten Besuch in San Francisco faszinierten mich die Cable Cars, die die steilen Hügel der Stadt hinauf- und hinunterfuhren. Bei der Talstation gibt es eine bewegliche Plattform: Die Straßenbahnen werden per Hand umgedreht und fahren wieder bergauf.
