You could get a very cheap seat if you queued for the matinee. Some theatres provided little stools for a few pence, so that you could queue in comfort. The Wyndham’s Theatre is still going strong.
Wenn man sich für die Matinee anstellte, konnte man einen sehr günstigen Sitzplatz ergattern. Manche Theater boten für ein paar Pence kleine Hocker an, damit man es in der Warteschlange bequemer hatte. Das Wyndham’s Theatre ist noch immer gut im Geschäft.
